Amazon Predicts The Future

Just got this e-mail from Amazon:

#aprilfoolsbaby #haha

Do you think they know something I don't know?

What a morning we've had. HERE'S THE STORY. If I already told you, you can disregard the following:

____________________________________

So, last week I was only 1 cm dilated, thick and high. (not good). I asked my doctor if he would consider inducing me on my due date, and he said he would if I had progressed "a little" by then. He said he would snag a spot at the hospital on Thursday, and told me to schedule an OB appointment for next (this) week. We did so, and left.

When the hospital scheduled me for Thursday at 7, I realized that my doctors appointment was the same day at 8, so I called the office and told them "I need to reschedule my appointment because the doctor wants to check me before I'm induced." She said she'd ask the doctor, then returned and said "no he said he'll just see you there!"

ummm..... okay....

So Thursday (today) rolls around and we're ready to go! Before anything happened, I explained to my nurse that my doctor wanted to check me first, because he didn't want me to induce unless I had dilated a little more. She looked at me like I was crazy (she had orders to just start the pitocin!) and said, "I'll check you but I'm sure it'll be fine" So I suited up and she hooked me up to the IV and everything (uggggh) before checking my cervix, only to find that I was STILL 1 cm, thick, and high.

Nnnnnnoooooooo!!!!!!

I asked her to call my doctor and she agreed to, but first gave me a long schpeel about how I had good chances of being induced and ending up with a vaginal delivery and that waiting a week might not make any difference, so Evan and I agreed to proceed with the induction as long as my doctor gave us a green light.

WELL I'm glad we insisted, because it turns out the whole thing was based on miscommunication. The doctor DID plan to see me in his office before I was induced, and seemed surprised that I was there at the hospital in the first place. He decided to come over and talk with us. He checked me himself, and strongly advised against inducing (and possibly forcing a 24+ hour labor). So we pulled out the IV, unstrapped the monitors, put my clothes on and headed home again, as if nothing had happened.

The nurse said that she had never seen that happen before, that once people are admitted for an induction, they don't get sent home, and that's why she hooked me up and pushed for the induction.

Because of hospital policy they had to put me in a wheel chair and wheel me out to the front doors. Evan and I giggled a little since I was perfectly fine (minus the new hole in my arm) and capable of walking.

Ayla will be evicted "for medical reasons" a week from today, on April 4th. We're crossing our fingers that things get moving along before then so that this fiasco wasn't completely in vain.

Save The Pool!!!

What is going on!!! Doesn't Dad know that the only reason we visit in the Summer is to go swimming in the pool?? Okay, maybe that isn't the only reason, but it is definitely something I love about being in Brigham on a hot day! Plus, Katie and I were REALLY excited to play with the twins in the pool this summer. How else are we going to teach our babies to swim?? So, dad really needs to rethink his decision. Plus Hunter is old enough to take care of the pool now! Lets give that boy some responsibility!! Please comment and let Dad know how much we LOVE the pool! Katie and I would definitely be very sad to see it go.

Life is Good

Things are going well with Mr. Epperson! We are very happy and spending lots of time together. I especially enjoyed playing tennis and Ultimate Frisbee this week in the beautiful weather!
On Saturday Sara invited us to a BBQ with her family for her G-pa's birthday. It was really fun. Doesn't Sara look great?! (That's her boyfriend in the picture by the way)

Suzy Snowflake

This is Taycee's dance number from her winter recital, it is riveting ;).  She's on the far right of the screen.  For some reason Blogger is only allowing really poor quality for this video, so if you wanna see it in a better quality go to YouTube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oc9vT0Qcf48.

News from the Homefront...

This week's news.... FiFi is going up for adoption because we decided we did NOT want to try to have baby chinchillas after all.  Too much work.  So if you know anyone who wants an adorable, hard-to-catch, wants-to-get-away-from-you chinchilla, let us know.

Jason called and said Grandma Sharp told him the pool was to be filled in with dirt, so if that's news to you, yes, it's true.  Dad can't take the pool any longer, so at some point this summer, it will be a beautiful green lawn with a trampoline.

We took in a 2 1/2 hour guitar concert last Friday night.  Way too long to listen to a guitar.  But he was a VERY GOOD guitar player.  You may have enjoyed him.

Found out this week our roof needs some MAJOR repair on both sides... from ice damming over the last 30 years.  So that will be a fun repair coming up.

Otherwise, we're all healthy and happy.  Loved the weather this week!  Hope you all got out and enjoyed some sun!!

Love you!!

Bunny plantation

Well we sold all of our baby bunnies. I took a few pictures put up the ad and within hours they were all spoken for. We made $225. Chris thinks he should quit his job and we should start a bunny plantation. Anybody else in??

Of course this could also be due largely in part to the fact that Easter is a few weeks away. So demand for cute little bunnies is high. But Midnight broke through the cage to get to Lili a few days ago.... So I guess we will see how a second litter sells in another few months.

Bunny plantation here we come!!

4 Months

These boys are four months old already! Just had the doctor's appointment today.  They are still not on the charts for weight but getting close for height. We just have small babies, what can I say? :)
