Firsts

I gave Ayla her first bath before church yesterday. She took it like a champ! She didn't fuss at all, even when I accidentally poured water down her face.
She was really good for her first day at church too. She slept in her car seat until the third hour, and then I just whipped out a bottle for her. She is not very discreet about her bowel movements, which made the ladies sitting around us in relief society giggle. But hey.. what can ya do?

She's a good girl. I'm a lucky mom.

In other news, they switched Evan's calling from teaching Gospel Doctrine once a month to teaching the 14-15 year-olds every week. He's not too thrilled about the switch, but I know he'll do a good job.

Ayla and I are looking forward to a trip to Utah in May. Anyone have any suggestions for which week we should come? I'm hoping Jason's family and Jenny can all meet us in Brigham, so let me know when will work best for you!

The Binky War has Begun

It's true, Cooper and Bennett now officially love to steal each other's binkies. They steal them on a regular basis.

I tried to catch the snatch in action, but every time they see mommy or the camera, they stop what they are doing and just stare at me.

Cooper has also pulled Bennett's hair hard enough to make him cry. He then gave me the most innocent smile. The fun starts.... now.

Update

Isn't he a good bother? I love that Addi is completely bent in half.

I wish I had something very exciting to post but I don't. Maybe someday.

Chris submitted version 3578 of his paper to his advisor today. Everyone can cross their fingers and toes and anything else crossable that he likes it and we can submit it this week for publication, that will be a happy happy day.

I am gaining weight like.... Well a lot like Ayla. About a pound a week. It's disgusting. But I have been forbidden to exercise so I just drink slim fast for breakfast and try not to munch all day. ( Don't worry Mom slim fast is healthy it's got lots of vitamins and calories.)

Kaden is sweet as candy. We had a family home evening on emergency preparedness. He told us that an Emergency is when you really have to go potty during class.

Taycee is doing well. Her dance pictures on Saturday. She has a favorite princess dress that she wants to sleep in and wear every day.  It's like pulling teeth to get it off of her. Her new word is comzy It came about from the word comfy and cozy. She uses it whenever she is comfortable.

Addi is a two-year-old terror. But I adore her. She now meows like a cat barks like a dog hoots like an owl and screeches like a monkey. Now if only we could get her to talk like a person.

Littlest baby is active and kicking constantly.

And that's all from the Clayton front.

Lending a Hand...

I caught Bennett lending a hand to Cooper the other day. What a nice brother!

Day One

We miss you already, Grandma!

Well it's my first day alone with Ayla. She and I had a rough night. She was refusing to sleep in her bassinet or bouncer, so I finally pulled her into bed with me at about 2:30 and she fell asleep in the crook of my arm. I left her lying on my bed while I ate breakfast, and I came back to a HUGE blowout, all over our bedding. Of course.

Anyway, I took care of it, and we're still friends. She has been sleeping all day, the little stinker. How can I teach her to switch around her days and nights?

Death of the pool.

Sorry Jason, looks like your attempt to save the pool was. In vain. It was a valiant effort though.

Visit from the Barnetts

Evan's brother Chad and his little family came to visit us in the hospital. His wife Eva took a bunch of pictures, so now we have some to share with you! I have been mostly bed ridden so far, so I haven't been feeling up to taking many of my own photos, but I'm sure that will change once we go home Monday.

We love her and think these pictures don't do justice to how precious she is :) prettiest baby we ever had!

Ayla's cousin, Sophia, reading her a story

And one from my phone :) She loves her daddy, and he has been a great helper!

Fishy FHE

With the river basically in our back yard, I suspect fishing is going to become a new favorite FHE activity. Tonight we settled down in a nice little spot and like five minutes later Evan caught one! Unfortunately the little fishy got stuck pretty good, and when Evan tossed it off the bank, we watched it slowly sink.

Whoops.

I told Evan he had to jump in after it, 'cause now we had to eat it! So he did. Haha, good man :) Luckily he was wearing shorts and flip flops, but he still got pretty wet.

And so this poor little fishy became the appetizer for our dinner. Yum!
