We're eating pizza and Ayla starts singing...
"Head, shoulders, pizza dough, pizza dough, pizza dough,
Head, shoulders, pizza dough,
Eyes, ears, pizza dough!" Then she breaks into hysterical laughter.
Hahahaha! ...Where did this goofy kid come from?

New Logo
Well... my Etsy shop is dead. And with it the Honey Hawk brand.
Here is my new logo. Now I just have to figure out what to do with this degree of mine...

Long Lost Sister
Well Mom and Dad, I'm sorry, but you can't keep this a secret any longer. Thanks to Pinterest, I finally found our long lost sister, the one you put up for adoption all those years ago...

San Diego Trip 2015
Here are some pics from our San Diego Trip - October, 2015
We bought the Costco 4-day "Go San Diego Card", and we used it every day! Pretty sure we got our money's worth out of it! First stop after the plane delivered us, was the car rental agency. Something about our facial expressions just screamed "Give us a KIA!". So they did.
Then we took off for the Zoo.
And then we took the ferry to Coronado Island and took a bike tour. That was very fun.

Then we took off for the Zoo.
Then we toured a bit around Balboa Park (which is adjacent to the zoo). There's lots of cool museums. Hunter and I tried out the "History of Man" museum. We're not really into museums.
And we also took a tour at the Mormon Battalion Museum. That was very fun (no pics, sorry).
The next day was our Sea World day...
We were standing in the wrong spot to touch the dolphin. |
Bayside Skyride |
And then we went to Belmont Park where Hunter enjoyed the Lazer Maze, laser tag and video games. We did NOT enjoy the roller coaster...Alas, no pictures.
Friday was our beach day - the cloudiest, coldest day of the trip - of course. So we headed to the temple first, the race track second (where Scott took the best lap time), and then the beach.
No swimsuits were donned.

Love Hunter's face here! |
Here's a couple of pics from Old Town. It was walkable from our hotel, La Quinta Inn.
The final day we went on a Go Car Tour. We can say it was fun now...maybe... Hunter was the most frustrated of us all, perhaps because he felt the most helpless. Here's the story. These cute little cars are gps guided which means as you drive them around the approved route, they talk to you and tell you cute things about the history and buildings and waterfront, etc. So Hunter and I are following Scott, our fearless leader. We all have maps and verbal instructions of the route we are to follow. The only problem is they didn't emphasize enough that the nice lady talking to us on our GPS is NOT giving us the directions of the map we were to follow. She is talking as if we're taking the Long Tour, and we only signed up for the Short tour. We didn't clue into this until we were a few blocks away from the approved route. So then it was a matter of trying to get back on course, or back to our starting point. Instead of looking at our maps and figuring it out, we just drive and drive and try to find our way from one one-way street to another. I wish I had a map of the route we should have taken and a map of the actual route we took. It would be HILARIOUS! Seriously. But, we made it back eventually, 20 minutes late, only having heard half the real tour info, and fearing an additional fee, but they didn't seem to mind.
We were cuter with our helmets on. This is a post-trip pic. We're happy to be alive. |
We toured the USS Midway, which I thought was a very well-done tour.

So that's our trip in a nutshell. Very fun trip. I enjoyed every day!

Ayla Speaks
While I was making dinner (and Evan was still at work) Ayla said...
A: "Mommy, What're you making? Couscous?"
M: "Yep! I'm making Couscous"
A: "What's Daddy making? Money?"
M: "...Yep..." :)
Tonight while we were eating dinner Ayla started naming everyone in our family...
A: "Vee-wa Belle DeYong. Daddy DeYong. Heather (or her version of Heather) DeLong. Ayla DeYong. Haugh-unh DeYong....
M: No... Hunter is Hunter Webre! Hunter Webre and Grandma Webre and Grandpa Webre...
A: "Oh"
M: "And Bennett Webre and Cooper Webre....
A: "and Jason!"
M: "Yep, Jason webre...
A: "and Katie!"
M: "Uh-huh and there's Jenny Cook...
A: "and Josh!"
Last night after we put Ayla to bed she was calling for us as per usual...
A: "Mommmyyyyyyy! Mommmmyyyyy! Mommyyyyyyy! Mommyyyyyy! .... short pause... Ev! Evaaannn!!!"
And right now while I'm typing this she is sitting on the couch with a book singing (to the tune of Mary Had a Little Lamb)...
A: "Veewa, veewa, veewa belle, veewa belle, veewa belle!"
Haha! This little girl makes me laugh every day.
And for your viewing pleasure... Here's a little video (Nothing too exciting... I mostly took it to test the quality of video on my new phone) but it still makes me smile :)

Brielle Sings
I have been practicing the songs for the primary program the past few days because I was asked to be the pianist on Saturday for the program next week. Brielle really likes to sing and usually sits beside me as I play the songs and sings along.
Today she was being especially cute as she sang the words to "Follow the prophet" and "I am a child of God" we even threw in a little "Twinkle twinkle". I stopped and quickly grabbed my phone hoping to document her sweet little voice singing the words of the primary songs. Bad idea. Magic ruined. As soon as I stood up the trance was broken and she was completely uninterested in singing with me anymore. I attempted several times to get her to sit back down and finally coaxed her onto the bench with both of her babies in hand, we were going to sing them songs so they could go to sleep. That wasn't working to well and so I bribed her with a treat... which is where this video picks up.
It wasn't the video I intended to get but it cracks me up so I thought I would share anyway.
I am not sure if my favorite part is at the very beginning when I try bribing with a treat or cookie and she says... "um I want ice cream" or in the middle where she hurts her toe and when she resumes singing every line ends with "hurt"
Maybe it is funnier to me than anyone else but I get a good laugh every time I watch it.
